As you become more aware of the damage that certain materials cause to our planet, the more you may want to buy in an eco-friendly way. Not just products for yourself but gifts for your loved ones too. And the great thing about that is it’s normally the small and home based businesses that are the best eco-friendly gift suppliers.
Nature and wildlife is all around even in the urban areas of the cities, you just have to look for it. Sometimes it needs a helping hand from us and there are great organisations out there that help preserve, protect, and promote nature in your local area and worldwide. But what can you do from your own home and garden? Well the good news is you don’t have to be an expert and you really don’t need lots of space or a big garden. You just have to want to help nature and wildlife and have a desire to help save the planet.
When we started Northern Flock a few months ago, nothing could have prepared us for how much we love what we do. Some would say we are living the dream, doing what we love, working from home, and mother and daughter working together, and we have to say they are right.

We are of the view that we only have one world and those of us who are planet friendly people who make conscious decisions about the ingredients we use, are here to make a change. We are here to help protect our planet because we have to start somewhere.
Taking time out for yourself doesn’t have to take a lot of time or effort so here are some suggestions to help you look after yourself:
Take a moment to breathe and look after yourself. Because if you don’t look after you first, how can you look after our world, save the planet, recycle, care for nature, and care for others? We live in a busy world and taking time out for yourself can be somewhat challenging. With work, children, the home, and everything else to look after, how can you look after yourself and how does this help save the planet?
Here at Northern Flock, because we are eco-conscious, use sustainable ingredients, and care for our world, we thought we would write you a blog on how you can make small changes yourself to help the planet. The earth is huge, enormous in fact with the surface measuring 510.1 million square kilometres. When you think of the size, it’s hard to believe that just a few of us can make a difference and it can seem like a never-ending job making sure it is still around for years to come. However, according to Forbes last year, 77% of you want to live more sustainably. That is a big proportion of the population, so imagine the impact that would have if we all made a few extra changes to our purchasing and recycling habits.
There has been a lot in the media recently from wildlife experts about protecting our bees, how to do that, and why. Bees are wonderful insects and when they make their honey and secrete their Beeswax, you know those two ingredients will do you the world of good. Anything from Manuka honey to keep coughs and colds at bay, local honey to help prevent your Hay Fever, and now our beauty products which moisturise your skin and are a barrier to irritants, all start with the Bees.
