Palm oil sounds wonderful doesn’t it, maybe it triggers the thought of palm trees, relaxation, maybe a massage with some relaxing oil. But whilst there is nothing wrong with natural palm oil itself, unfortunately it’s detrimental to the planet yet it is found in over 50% of shelf products. These can be anything from processed food, personal care products, and animal feed. In some parts of the world it’s also used in bio fuel.

Here at Northern Flock, because we are eco-conscious, use sustainable ingredients, and care for our world, we thought we would write you a blog on how you can make small changes yourself to help the planet. The earth is huge, enormous in fact with the surface measuring 510.1 million square kilometres. When you think of the size, it’s hard to believe that just a few of us can make a difference and it can seem like a never-ending job making sure it is still around for years to come. However, according to Forbes last year, 77% of you want to live more sustainably. That is a big proportion of the population, so imagine the impact that would have if we all made a few extra changes to our purchasing and recycling habits.

It’s All About The Bees.

There has been a lot in the media recently from wildlife experts about protecting our bees, how to do that, and why. Bees are wonderful insects and when they make their honey and secrete their Beeswax, you know those two ingredients will do you the world of good. Anything from Manuka honey to keep coughs and colds at bay, local honey to help prevent your Hay Fever, and now our beauty products which moisturise your skin and are a barrier to irritants, all start with the Bees.
